Membership Policy
1. What a membership is #
A household membership enables the private scheduling service for one household. One membership covers everyone in that household — the owner, other parents, sitters, and viewers who have been invited in. Membership is managed by the household owner, who is the person who created the household.
2. What it includes, and what works without it #
A household can create its account and run its own schedule — posting nights, managing sign-ups, and messaging — before activating a membership. An active membership is what lets a household add sitters to it, which is how the household grows beyond the people already in it.
Accounts of platform operators are comped, and access and deletion rights remain available whether or not a membership is active.
3. Price and renewal #
Membership is $25 per year and renews automatically each year until cancelled, charged to the payment method on file through our payment provider. We will tell you before a price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
4. Failed payments #
If a renewal payment fails, the household moves to a past-due state and keeps working through a short grace period so a lapsed card does not lock a family out mid-week. We email the owner so the card can be updated in the billing portal. If the grace period ends without a successful payment, the membership becomes inactive.
5. Cancelling and lapsing #
The owner can cancel at any time from the billing portal. The household keeps its membership benefits until the end of the period already paid for, and afterwards the household stays intact — the schedule, the people, and the history remain, and the household can no longer add new sitters until a membership is active again. For refunds see https://gatedsitting.com/refund-policy.
6. Changes to this policy #
We may update this policy by publishing a new version with a new version date. Material updates require acceptance before continuing to use the service.
