Community Standards

Version 2026-08-08 — effective August 8, 2026

1. What this service is #

Gated Sitting is a private neighborhood coordination tool, not a sitter-vetting marketplace. Recommendations come from neighbors. The platform does not verify, endorse, employ, or guarantee any sitter or family unless a specific service explicitly says so. See our Marketplace Disclaimer at https://gatedsitting.com/marketplace-disclaimer.

2. What we expect of everyone #

3. Keep sensitive details out of shared areas #

Community-facing areas — the Neighborhood Board, the household directory, and sitter recommendations — are visible to other members beyond your own household. We do not verify or vet those members. Do not post children’s private information, home access codes, alarm codes, medical details, custody arrangements, or financial details to those areas.

Share what a sitter needs for a confirmed arrangement directly with that sitter, not on a shared surface. A night’s notes are visible to neighbors when you share that night to the Neighborhood Board.

4. Reporting a concern #

Anyone can report a user, a conversation, or a job from within the app, or open a support ticket. Reports are triaged by platform operators. If you are unsure whether something crosses a line, report it — an operator would rather review a false alarm than miss a real problem.

5. Enforcement #

Operators may, with a recorded reason code: dismiss or action a report; suspend or reactivate an individual account; or suspend or reactivate an entire household.

All enforcement actions are written to an append-only audit log. Suspended accounts and households are frozen: their sessions end immediately and they cannot sign back in until reactivated.

6. How a concern is escalated #

1. A member files a report or a support ticket.
2. An operator reviews it, requests any missing detail, and sets a status.
3. The operator dismisses, warns, suspends an account, or suspends a household.
4. Where there is an imminent risk to a child or any person, contact local emergency services first. This platform is a coordination tool and cannot respond to emergencies.

7. Appeals #

Suspension decisions can be appealed by opening a support ticket from the affected account once reactivated, or by contacting the operator through the channel published to your neighborhood, or at 903-466-2946.

8. Changes to these standards #

We may update these standards by publishing a new version with a new version date. Material updates require every member to review and accept the new version before continuing to use the service.
