1. What Gated Sitting is and is not #

Gated Sitting is a private coordination service that helps neighbors schedule babysitting among themselves. It is not an employer, an agency, a staffing service, a guarantor, or a provider of background checks unless a specific service explicitly says otherwise.

2. We do not vet or endorse sitters or families #

We do not interview, screen, background-check, credential-verify, or endorse any sitter or family. A sitter appearing in the app — including on the Recommended Babysitters board — is not a statement by us that they are suitable to care for your children.

Where a recommendation appears, it is the opinion of the neighbor who wrote it. Where experience or a certification appears, it is what that person entered about themselves and we have not verified it.

3. The choice, and the diligence, are yours #

Deciding who cares for your children is yours alone. Interview candidates, ask for and check references, verify anything that matters to you, and meet before a first booking. Sitters likewise decide which families and arrangements to accept.

4. We are not a party to your arrangement #

Any arrangement between a family and a sitter — the care, the schedule, the rate, and payment outside our card processing — is between those people. We are not a party to it, do not supervise the care, and are not liable for it.

5. No warranty #

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that a sitter will attend, that a family will pay, or that any listing or profile is accurate.

6. Report anything that concerns you #

If a sitter or family behaves in a way that worries you, report it in the app or contact support at 903-466-2946. Where a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. See our Community Standards at https://gatedsitting.com/community-standards.
