Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms #

Use of the private neighborhood coordination service operated as Gated Sitting (https://gatedsitting.com) is subject to these terms. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, together with the Privacy Policy (https://gatedsitting.com/privacy) and Community Standards (https://gatedsitting.com/community-standards).

2. The service #

Gated Sitting is a private coordination service for neighborhood babysitting: households run their own private space, schedule nights, invite sitters, and may share nights to a neighborhood board. Families and sitters are independently responsible for the arrangements they make. Gated Sitting is not an employer, agency, or guarantor of any sitter or family, and does not provide background checks unless a specific service says otherwise.

3. Accounts #

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your sign-in credentials private. You are responsible for activity under your account. A household membership enables the private scheduling service; membership status, renewal, and cancellation are managed by the household owner.

4. SMS text messaging program #

Program name and description: Gated Sitting booking and account notifications, plus customer support replies. If you opt in to text messages, Gated Sitting will send you SMS messages about your bookings and account — booking notifications, sitter confirmations, service updates, and replies from customer support.

Consent is optional: agreeing to receive text messages is not a condition of creating an account or using the service.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out: you can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will no longer send you SMS messages. To rejoin, sign up again through your profile in the app or reply START.

Help: if you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact customer support directly at 903-466-2946.

Carriers: the SMS service is available on major US carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others). Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers are not liable for any delays or failures in the delivery of messages.

5. Acceptable use #

Do not misuse the service: no unlawful activity, no harassment, and no posting of sensitive child, address, access-code, medical, or custody information to community-facing areas. We may suspend accounts that put neighbors or children at risk.

6. Disclaimers and liability #

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Gated Sitting is not a party to, and is not liable for, the babysitting arrangements families and sitters make with each other.

7. Changes to these terms #

We may update these terms by publishing a new version with a new version date. Material updates require every user to review and accept the new version before continuing to use the service.
